I am a big fan of Chick-fil-A sandwich meal with waffle fries and coke and topped off with a strawberry milk shake. Delicious indeed! Besides the obvious love for the food, there is one other thing I like, their service. Their service is something that, I believe, sets them apart from other food service establishments. They serve with a genuine care for those they are serving. It is as if, when they hand you that bag of delicious food it is all about you.
I wonder when we serve, what is our attitude? Do those we serve feel it is all about them? Shortly before Jesus’ crucifixion He taught His disciples what it meant to truly be a servant to others. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. In the first century, foot washing was reserved for the lowliest of menial servants. Jesus took upon himself that lowliest of menial servant positions and gave His disciples a pattern they were to follow. Jesus was the servant of Yahweh. He did for us what we co old not do for ourselves. When Jesus went to that cross, it was indeed, all about us. May your service and my service be all about those we serve.
